Requirements:
1. Be at least 18 by the start of the program.
2. Have graduated from high school or secondary school or equivalent.
3. Present a clear, informative and strong Motivation letter describing the facts about applicant‘s academic background, knowledge and skills, and proof of applicant ‘s high interest to participate in the Summer School.
4. Have fluency in English language in order to imply the utmost participation in seminars, lectures, tours, workshops and meetings on Russian Studies.
5. Be responsible and enthusiastic.

The main aim of the program “Russian Woman – Russian Power“ is to highlight the role of Russian women in Russia’s socio-political, cultural and economic spheres. From imperial Russia to Soviet times and to the present day, we will focus on the role of Russian women in shaping their lives and the lives of others in various aspects of Russian reality. Also, the participants will be offered a deep immersion in the realms of the Russian language.
Thus, the school participants will consider Russian women, representing the female political history of Russia, starting from the 10th century, when the country was ruled by Princess Olga, the first Russian woman-political leader; and one of the most powerful female political leaders Empress Catherine the Great, daughter of the German duke, under whose rule Russia flourished and became one of the great powers of Europe. Also, participants will be presented with a view on the Russian woman in the Soviet times, when She was given equal rights with men in all spheres of economic, state, cultural, social and political life. Finally, participants will see the role and place of women in contemporary Russia, as well as learn about feminist activism in Russia today.
In addition, the School participants will have a unique opportunity to meet Russian women who have achieved great success in sport, ballet, art, space, and archeology. Thus, Anna Negasheva, two-time world champion in synchronized skating, will be one of the special guests of the Online Summer School.
The Summer School "Russian Woman – Russian Power" is an intensive Russian language course, that includes various linguistic activities such as linguistic games, quests and Russian animated cartoons.
The course of Russian as a foreign language will be held for students of different language levels (A0-C1) in the groups of 5-10 people:
Moreover, on a daily basis, students will be involved in a dynamic student life filled with classes, workshops, and exciting extracurricular activities devoted to Russian studies and, in particular, the School theme.
After the three-week summer course, which will run from 23 August to 12 September, students will acquire remarkable linguistic and Russian as a foreign language skills, as well as a rich and practical knowledge of the political status and the role of women in Russia.
In addition, participants will visit the most famous city sights and museums: the Square of 1905, Lenin’s Monuments, the Church on Blood, Ekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts, the Soviet Lifestyle Museum. Moreover, students will be able to cross the borders between Europe and Asia and enjoy the view of the Ural mountains and forests. They will also visit Siberian villages, taste Russian cuisine and take part in a pottery workshop.
In Saint Petersburg participants will visit the most beautiful sights of the city such as Saint Isaac's Cathedral and its Colonnade, Kazan Cathedral, Peter and Paul Fortress, The State Hermitage Museum, Museum of Political History of Russia, The Russian Museum, Peterhof and Tsarskoye Selo etc.
Classes are held in groups of 6-9 students according to Russian language level
